Asia, Africa coal imports via RBCT up 19% in Feb m-o-m

March 23: Imports of coal from RBCT by African and Asian countries, excluding India, rose 18.83% in February, 2015 to 2,112,052 tons compared to 17,77,367, according to data available with ICMW.

In February 2014, imports of coal by African and Asian countries from RBCT stood at 1,314,307 tons.

Imports of coal from RBCT by African and Asian countries, excluding India, were up by almost 61% in February, 2015 as compared to the February, 2014, as per data available.

On the other hand, during FY2013-14, total imports of Asia-Africa stood at 19,599,929 tons compared to 23,242,511 tons in FY2012-13. Therefore, there was a decline of 15.672% in imports in 2014, compared to 2013
