Asian, African coal imports via RBCT fall 35.16% in Nov

December 10: Imports of coal from South Africa's Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT) by African and Asian countries, excluding India, fell sharply by 35.16% to 1,943,518 tons during November 2013 compared to 2,997,391 tons imported during October 2013, revealed data available with ICMW.

Imports in November this year were also lower compared to 2,106,504 tons recorded during the same month in 2012, the data revealed.

Total coal imports by African and Asian countries, excluding India, fell 6.49% to 23,813,914 tons in the first 11 months of 2013 compared to 25,466,422 tons imported during the corresponding period last year.

The following table gives details of coal imports from RBCT by Asian and African countries during June-November, 2013 and November 2012 (in tons):
