January 16: Gypsum imports via Mundra Port stood at 22,237 tons during December 2014, up sharply from 580 tons in November 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In December 2013, gypsum imports via the port stood at 1,066 tons.
During the first nine months (April-December) of 2014-15, total imports of gypsum through the port stood at 113,599 tons against 34,160 tons seen during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

In December 2014, 368 tons came from Iran at a price range of Rs 3,708-Rs 4,081 ($58-$64) per ton, 21,808 tons from Oman at Rs 1,248-Rs 8,589 ($20-$135) per ton and the balance 62 tons from Saudi Arabia at Rs 7,699 ($123) per ton.
However, in November 2014, 347 tons came in from Iran at a price range of Rs 3,332-Rs 6,060 ($53-$98) per ton whereas the balance 233 tons arrived from Oman at Rs 3,866-Rs 8,347 ($62-$135) per ton.
