February 19: Gypsum imports via Mundra Port stood at 498 tons during January 2015, down sharply from 22,237 tons imported in December 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In January 2014, gypsum imports via the port stood at 755 tons.
During the first 10 months (April-January) of 2014-15, total imports of gypsum through the port stood at 114,096 tons against 34,915 tons seen during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

During January 2015, a volume of 275 tons came from Iran at a price of Rs 3,865 ($62) per ton, 103 tons from Oman at a price of Rs 8,381 ($135) per ton, 100 tons came from Saudi Arabia at 8,641 ($135) per ton whereas the remaining 20 tons came from Thailand at a price range of Rs 12,111-Rs 43,966 ($194-$706)per ton.
In December 2014, 368 tons came from Iran at a price range of Rs 3,708-Rs 4,081 ($58-$64) per ton, 21,808 tons from Oman at Rs 1,248-Rs 8,589 ($20-$135) per ton and the balance 62 tons from Saudi Arabia at Rs 7,699 ($123) per ton.
