Pet coke imports via Vizag drop 8.77% m-o-m in Oct

November 25: Pet coke imports through the port of Vizag dropped 8.77% to 88,768 tons in October 2013 against 97,300 tons reported in September 2013, according to provisional information available with ICMW.
With this, imports of steam coal in the first seven months of 2013-14 stood at 657,541 tons whereas the figure was at 423,102 tons during the corresponding period of 2012-13.
Following is the monthly break-up of pet coke imports via Vizag port in 2012-13 & 2013-14:

In October, 55,783 tons arrived from China in a price band of Rs 11,215 – Rs 16,473 (180-$258) per ton, while the balance 32,985 tons arrived from Kuwait at a unit price of Rs 14,584 ($234).
In September 2013, 20,980 tons arrived from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 16,808 ($257), 21,652 tons came in from Kuwait at a unit price of Rs 6,531 ($97) while 54,668 tons arrived from the US at a unit price of Rs 6,531 ($97).
