October 28: Spot prices of South Africa steam coal continued to remain firm in the international markets on October 25 even though actual materialisation of deals continued to remain low, industry sources said.
Australian and Indonesian steam coal prices, on the other hand, remained largely unchanged on lack of bids and offers, they added.
Freight rates, however, softened a bit as expected and are likely to fall further in the coming days.
Coking coal prices, after remaining largely unchanged during the past four sessions, firmed up a bit amidst reports of limited availability of cargo, a trader said.
