Steam coal imports via Ennore down 33.86% in Sept m-o-m

October 25: Steam coal imports through the port of Ennore stood at 597,230 tons in September 2013 against 902,986 tons recorded in August 2013, down 33.86%, as per information available with ICMW.

With this, steam coal imports during the first six months of 2013-14 were at 3,281,928 tons while the figure stood at 1,714,475 tons during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

In September 2012, steam coal imports stood at 247,826 tons, which was considerably lower than the figure in September of the current fiscal.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore port in FY'13 and FY'14:

In September, the entire consignment arrived from Indonesia in a price band of Rs 2,910-Rs 6,225 ($43.44-$98) per ton.

In August too, the entire consignment arrived from Indonesia but in a price range of Rs 2,396 – Rs 5,719 ($40-$92) per ton.
