New User50 power utilities receive excess coal in April

May 22: A total of 50 power plants out of 121 in the country received coal in excess of their requirement during April 2014, according to provisional data made available to ICMW by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
Amongst the power plants, the maximum volume of oversupply happened at Mundra where coal demand for the month of April stood at 0.690 mt while supply stood at 1.45 mt, indicating an excess supply of 0.765 mt, as per the data.
