Adani Power’s coal imports fall in September

October 24: Adani Power (Tirora) received a total of 49,000 tons of imported steam coal in September 2014, much below the target of 167,000 tons set for the month, and also sharply down from 236,000 tons imported in August, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

This private sector power utility’s coal imports during the first six months of 2014-15 stood at 1,322,000 tons, higher by 32.2% against the target of 1,000,000 tons.

The utility had received 129,000 tons of imported coal in September 2013 which means its imports during the first six months of 2013-14 were only 458,000 tons.

The utility had a target to import 1 million tons of coal in 2013-14, which has been doubled to 2 mt for 2014-15.
