Adani to commence imported coal supplies to NTPC within a week

March 7: Adani Enterprises Ltd will start supplying imported coal to power plants of NTPC Ltd within the next 7-8 days, a senior official told ICMW.

"Our vessels are already on sail and are expected to reach Indian ports within a few days. We expect to start delivery at NTPC plants in the next 7-8 days," the official added. 

Adani Enterprises had emerged the lowest cost bidder in NTPC's imported coal tender for 7.25 million tons (mt) for its various power plants.

However, the company received orders of around 4.70 mt while the balance 2.55 mt was divided between Knowledge Infrastructure Systems Private Ltd (KISPL) and Agaril.

Prior to this tender, Adani had also emerged the lowest bidder in the previous tender of 5.0 mt of NTPC.

"The price quoted against the second tender of 7.25 mt was lower than that of the 5 mt tender, but I do no recollect the exact prices right now," the official said.
