May 6: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), on May 6, commissioned the first unit of 82.5 MW of the upcoming Shrinagar hydro electric project (HEP) in Uttarakhand, the company said in a filing to the BSE on May 6.
The greenfield project will consist of four units (82.5 MW each).
The project is located on the Alokananda River and power generation from Shrinagar HEP is likely to result in reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
