CIL, SCCL Dec despatches to power cos up 2.18%

January 15: Despatches of coal by domestic miners Coal India Ltd (CIL) and Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) during December 2014 stood at 37.90 million tons (mt), up 2.18% from 37.09 mt recorded in the preceding month of November, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

Of the total despatches in December 2014, CIL’s share was at 34.35 mt while’s SCCL’s was at 3.55 mt. In November 2014, CIL’s despatches were at 33.88 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 3.21 mt., respectively.

On the other hand, in December 2013, CIL had despatched 31.87 mt and SCCL, 3.38 mt.

During the first nine months (April-December) of 2014-15, total coal despatched by CIL and SCCL stood at 306.69 mt while the figure was at 279.77 mt during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

In 2013-14, total despatches stood at 388.09 mt, up 1.15% compared to 383.66 mt recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
      
Of the total despatches in 2013-14, CIL’s comprised 353.82 mt while’s SCCL’s share was at 34.27 mt.
