July 31: Despatches by Coal India Ltd (CIL) stood at 38.26 million tons (mt) in June 2014 against 40.67 mt recorded for May, showing a decline of 5.93%, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In June 2013, despatches stood at 37.17 mt.
Of the total despatches during the month of June 2014, those to the power sector was at 2.91 mt (30.15 mt in May 2014); steel sector, 0.48 mt (0.53 mt), cement, 0.37 mt (0.39 mt), fertiliser 0.14 mt (0.22 mt).
The company had despatched 28.61 mt, 0.59 mt, 0.45 mt and 0.22 mt, respectively to the power, steel, cement and fertiliser sectors in May 2013.
