CIL’s Sept spot allotment via other platform slightly up

31 Oct 2014

October 31: Both the allotted and offered quantities of coal through the MSTC platform in September 2014 rose slightly compared to that in August 2014, according to information available with ICMW.

During September 2014, consequent upon the government directive to Coal India Ltd (CIL) to restrict its coal offering under e-auction in order to supply more of the commodity to power sector consumers only, a small quantity of 0.744 million tons (mt) of various types of coal were offered by six subsidiaries of CIL on the MSTC platform of which 0.591 mt got allotted.

However, the offered and allotted quantities in September were slightly higher as compared to 0.487 mt of various types of coal offered by three subsidiaries of CIL during August on the MSTC platform of which 0.430 mt got allotted.

In July, 0.306 mt of various types of coal were offered by three subsidiaries of CIL on the MSTC platform of which 0.285 mt got allotted.

However, in June 2014, 3.042 mt of various types of coal were offered by seven subsidiaries of CIL on the MSTC platform of which 2.740 mt got allotted.

In May 2014, 1.55 mt of various types were offered by five subsidiaries of CIL on the same platform of which 1.46 mt got allotted while in April 2014, out of 3.99 mt of various types of the fuel offered by eight subsidiaries of CIL, 3.77 mt had got allotted.
