April 27: The Indian cement sector consumed a total of 1.66 mt of coal during January 2015, up 3.16% compared to 1.58 mt in December 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW
During January 2015, 1.14 mt was consumed during the process of cement-making while 0.52 mt was used in generation of captive power. On the other hand, during December 2014, 1.05 mt was consumed during the process of cement-making while 0.53 mt was used in generation of captive power.
