Coal India registers 10.7% growth in production

State-run Coal India has registered a production growth of 10.7 percent at 41.52 million tonnes in April, over the corresponding month of 2014. Coal India has begun FY 2015-16 on a strong note with a record production during April at 41.52 million tonnes, 101 per cent of target production. CIL had registered a 6.9 percent production growth for the fiscal 2014-15. Coal offtake was at 43.52 million tonnes during April. Over Burden Removal (OBR), an important performance criteria that improves the mine geometry and exposes the coal seam for future mining making the mines safer to operate, has been 90.53 million cubic meters achieving 104 percent of the target. OBR during April 2015 jumped by 27.5 per cent as compared to the same month last year. Coal India stock price On May 04, 2015, at 10:32 hrs Coal India was quoting at Rs 365.45, up Rs 2.45, or 0.67 percent. The 52-week high of the share was Rs 423.85 and the 52-week low was Rs 289.50. The company's trailing 12-month (TTM) EPS was at Rs 6.97 per share as per the quarter ended December 2014. The stock's price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio was 52.43. The latest book value of the company is Rs 26.04 per share. At current value, the price-to-book value of the company is 14.03.
