Coal handling at Kandla Port up 18.97% in Aug m-o-m

September 9: Coal handling at Kandla Port stood at 1,160,000 tons during the month of August 2014, up 18.97% from 975,000 tons handled during the month of July, according to a compilation by the Indian Ports’ Association.

During the corresponding month of the previous year, coal handling at the port stood at 1,055,014 tons.

During the first five months (April-August) of the current financial year 2014-15, total coal handled at the port stood at 3,627,802 tons whereas the figure stood at 3,954,000 tons during the corresponding period last fiscal.
