Coal handling by 15 Indian ports drop 26% in Aug m-o-m

September 29: Total coal handling by 15 major and minor Indian ports during the month of August 2014 fell by 25.67% as compared to the previous month, according to a compilation by ICMW.
A total of 7,929,537 tons of coal was handled by the above ports during the month of August 2014 as compared to 10,668,497 tons handled by the same number of ports in July 2014, the compilation revealed.
During the corresponding month of the previous year (August 2013) total coal handling by these ports stood higher at 10,140,377 tons.
Total coal handling, both domestic and imported, by 15 major and minor ports of India during 2014-15 stood at 51,666,403 tons while the figure stood at 56,420,572 tons during the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a compilation by ICMW.
