March 10: Spot prices of coking coal fell sharply on March 7 on continued lack of enquiries amidst sufficient availability even as steam coal prices remained largely unchanged, industry sources said.
With steel demand throughout the world predominantly depressed, enquiries for coking coal, particularly from India and China, remained low, which is putting pressure on coking coal prices, they added.
Following are the indicative prices of coal in various markets and indicative freight rates on March 7:
