Duke Energy partners with Malta on DOE study looking at conversion of coal plants

A coal plant operated by Duke Energy Corp. in North Carolina will be used for an engineering study on the socioeconomic, environmental and operational benefits of installing a 100-megawatt, 10-hour heat-transfer storage system on former coal sites.
