Eastern Railways’ freight up 8.36% in Oct y-o-y

November 10: Operating freight loading of Eastern Railways (ER) during the month of October increased 8.36% to 5.081 million tons (mt) against a volume of 4.688 mt recorded in the same month of 2013.

On a month-on month basis, however, freight loading by ER fell from 5.22 mt recorded in September 2014.

On a cumulative basis, total originating freight loading of Eastern Railway for the period April - October, 2014-15, increased to 36.48 mt, up 7.72% from 33.87 mt handled in the same period of 2013-14.
