Ennore steam coal imports up 14% in Nov m-o-m

December 23: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port rose 14.07% to 956,941 tons in November 2014 against 838,864 tons in October, as per provisional information available with ICMW.

Imports of the material in November 2013 stood lower at 320,207 tons.

In the first eight months of the current financial year (2014-15), non-coking coal imports through the port stood at 7,785,669 tons against 4,245,995 tons imported during the same period in 2013-14.

Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY’14 and FY’15:

In November, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia in a range of Rs 2,818 – Rs 5,430 ($46-88) per ton.

In October too, all the consignments arrived from Indonesia but in a band of Rs 2,538 – Rs 5,432 ($41-87) per ton.
