May 19: Steam coal imports through Ennore Port edged up 3.62% to 1,211,936 tons in April 2015 from 1,169,630 tons in March 2015, as per provisional information available with ICMW.
Imports of the material in April 2014 stood lower at 998,520 tons.
Total imports of the material in financial year 2014-15 stood at 11,954,314 tons.
Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Ennore Port in FY14 and FY15:

In April 2015, a volume of 1,076,466 tons came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,791-Rs 5,553 ($44-$88) per ton and 135,570 tons from Russia at a unit price of Rs 5,479 (87).
In March 2015, 1,036,980 tons came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,823-Rs 5,536 ($45-$88) per ton and 132,650 tons from Russia in a range of Rs 5,175 – Rs 5,202 (82-83) per ton.
