Essar Power in market to procure 2 capesize parcels of imported coal

February 10: Essar Power Ltd has floated an enquiry to procure a total of two parcels of capesize vessels of imported steam coal for its power plant in Gujarat, an industry source said.

“The company has floated enquiry for one parcel of Indonesian coal and one parcel of South African coal,” the source said.

It has invited offers from traders and the deal is likely to be finalised within a week.

Essar had earlier finalised deals to procure off-spec South African steam coal a few months back.
