New UserG-5 grade sees strong demand in August e-auction

September 26: There was strong demand for G-5 grade (GCV 5,801 to 6,100 Kcal/kg) coal offered by two subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (CIL) for allotment through the e-auction platform of MSTC in August 2014, as 85,910 tons got allotted against the offered quantity of 85,950 tons at a weighted average price of Rs 4,189 per ton.
However, there was fair demand for G-5 grade offered through the e-auction platform of MSTC in July 2014, as 44,800 tons got allotted against the offered quantity of 45,750 tons at a weighted average price of Rs 3,984 per ton.
In June as well, there was fair demand for G-5 grade of coal offered as 258,800 tons got allotted against the offered quantity of 323,300 tons at a weighted average price of Rs 3,838 per ton.
