April 27: There was a fairly high demand for G5 grade (GCV 5,801 to 6,100 Kcal/kg) coal offered by subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (CIL) for allotment through the e-auction platform of MSTC in March 2015, as out of the entire offered quantity of 239,920 tons, a volume of 175,710 tons or 73.23% got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 4,143 per ton.
February saw fair demand for this grade too on MSTC by the subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (CIL), as out of the entire offered quantity of 264,530 tons, 195,106 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 3,951 per ton.
However, there was very strong demand for G5 grade in January 2015, as out of the entire offered quantity of 296,150 tons, 246,850 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 3,702 per ton.
