January 7: G8 grade coal (GCV range 4,900-5,200 Kcal/kg) offered by four subsidiaries of Coal India (CIL) met with moderate demand on coaljunction’s e-auction platform in December 2014. The quantity offered during the month stood at 261,000 tons while the total allotted quantity stood at 191,000 tons. The weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 2,496/ton.
However, G8 grade coal offered met with good demand in November 2014. The quantity offered during the month stood at 172,600 tons while the total allotted quantity stood at 170,150 tons. The weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 3,072/ton.
G8 grade coal met with similar fair demand on coaljunction’s platform in October 2014 as out of 40,430 tons offered, the allocated quantity stood at 39,980 tons. The weighted average price of the allotted quantity during the month stood at Rs 2,828/ton.
