GSECL extends bid submission date to procure imported steam coal

October 9: Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL), one of the leading power utilities in the country, which had floated a notice inviting tender (NIT) to procure imported steam coal on long-term basis, has extended the bid submission date till October 24, 2013, according to information available with ICMW.

Earlier, the last date for submission of bids was till September 24, 2013.

Bids (through e-tendering and physical tendering) are invited for long-term supply of 2.5 million tons per annum (mtpa) of imported non-coking steam coal in bulk for a period of 5 years on cost-insurance and freight (CIF )/high seas sales (HSS) basis for the thermal power station of GSECL at Sikka, Jamnagar in Gujarat.

The material to be procured should have a GCV of 5,300-5,800 Kcal/Kg (ARB), total moisture 10-22%, ash content 5-12%, fixed carbon 30-50%, volatile matter 25-45%, sulphur 0.6-0.8%.
