December 22: Spot prices of seaborne thermal coal eased slightly in international markets on December 19 as buyers and traders exercised restraint, being unclear about the supply scenario emerging over the coming weeks.
Australian thermal coal prices moved up marginally on supply concerns. However, the prolonged slackness in European demand continued to be a drag on the market. Reports said the coal sector is likely to witness a steady 2.1% growth over the next five years, buoying sentiment.
