October 15: Seaborne steam coal prices weakened further in international markets on October 14 as miners remained concerned about the implication of China’s new import tariffs, traders said.
“The Chinese move implies miners will have to cut prices to stay competitive for their Chinese buyers,” a trading source said.
There was, however, a marginal increase in coking coal prices.
