Good demand for coal offerings in September e-auction

October 7: A good demand was witnessed for offerings of coal from Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) and subsidiaries of Coal India Ltd (CIL) for allotment through the spot e-auction platform of coaljunction in September, according to information available with ICMW.

Nearly 87.32% of the offerings from CIL and 91.84% from SCCL were allotted during the month of September compared to 73.24% of the offering from CIL and 81.71% from SCCL allotted during August.

CIL had offered a total of 3.39 million tons (mt) of coal for allotment through e-auction in September of which 2.96 mt were allotted whereas SCCL had offered 0.098 mt out of which 0.09 mt were allotted.

However, in August, CIL had offered 2.99 mt of coal for allotment through e-auction of which 2.19 mt were allotted whereas SCCL had offered 0.082 mt out of which 0.067 mt were allotted.

The total offering by six subsidiaries of CIL and SCCL rose by 13.54% to 3.488 mt from 3.072 mt that was offered in August.
