Gypsum imports via New Mangalore Port stood at 47,202 tons in January 2016,while there December 2015 saw no imports of the material, as per provisional data available with ICMW.
A volume of 56,542 tons of gypsum had been imported via this port in January 2015.
Total gypsum imports through the port during the first 10 months (April-January) of 2015-16 stood at 267,601 tons against 2,26,926 tons seen in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Imports of gypsum through the port in financial year 2014-15 stood at 284,184 tons.

In January 2016, a volume of 108 tons came from Iran at a price of Rs 6,288 ($94) per ton and 47,094 tons came from Oman at Rs 1,015 ($15) per ton
The entire import volume in November 2015 had come from Iran at a price of Rs 5,966 ($90) per ton.
