Gypsum imports via Kandla fall sharply by 40.26% in Oct m-o-m

November 25: Imports of gypsum through Kandla Port stood at 15,696 tons during October 2014, sharply down by 40.26% from 26,276 tons reported in September 2014, according to provisional data available with ICMW.

During the first seven months of 2014-15, total gypsum imports via the port stood at 281,479 tons whereas the figure stood at 88,818 tons during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Following are the monthly details of gypsum imports via the port during 2014-15 and 2013-14:

During October 2014, the entire material came from Oman at a price of Rs 1,303 ($21) per ton whereas in September 2014, 3,000 tons came from Iran at a price of Rs 1,288 ($21) per ton, 20,000 tons came from Oman at a price of Rs 1,355 ($22) per ton while the balance 3,276 tons came from UAE at a price of Rs 1,325 ($21) per ton.
