April 07: G10 grade coal (GCV range 4,301 and 4,600 Kcal/kg) offered through the e-auction platform of coaljunction during March 2015 saw comparatively poor demand as average price dipped on higher offering.
The offered quantity in March from WCL rose to 195,000, but allotted quantity stood at 113,800 tons and the weighted average price stood at Rs 1463 per ton.
In February 2015, a strong demand was witnessed for G10 grade on coaljunction platform as the entire offered quantity of 1,00,000 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,184 per ton
The sharp decline in weighted average price in March was attributed to offering of poor grade of coal from the mines which are generally not in demand.
In January 2015, G10 grade coal offered through the e-auction platform of coaljunction saw a moderate demand as out of the entire offered quantity of 183,410 tons of coal, 152,700 tons got allotted at a weighted average price of Rs 2,184 per ton.
