November 27: India’s coal production in the month of October 2015 stood at 52.85 million tons (mt), up 17.58% from 44.95 mt reported in September 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In October 2015, India’s coal production was up 6.27% from 49.73 mt recorded in the same month a year ago (October 2014).
Production targets for the month of October 2015 were 59.41 mt while the same for the entire year of 2015-16 stands at 700 mt.
India’s coal production in the first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16) stood at 328.22 mt, up 4.46% from 314.14 mt recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal.
During the first seven months (April-October) of the current fiscal (2015-16), India’s coal production was 89.43% of the targeted 366.99 mt set for the period.
