Indian Railways’ revenue earnings up 17.63% in Apr

May 11: The total approximate earnings of Indian Railways on originating basis during April 2015 stood at Rs 14,125.15 crore, up 17.63% compared to Rs 12,008.56 crore earned during the previous fiscal, said an official statement.

The total approximate earnings from goods during April increased 16.85% to Rs 9,552.51 crore from Rs 8,174.94 crore reported during 2013-14, the statement said.

The total passenger revenue earnings in April 2015 were at Rs 4,013.66 crore compared to Rs 3,353.12 crore reported during the same period last year, registering an increase of 19.70%.

The revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs 348.96 crore in April 2015, up 7.7% compared to Rs 323.98 crore during the same period last year.
