August 4: Spot coal prices in the international markets softened further on lack of fresh interest and increased offering from traders, market sources said.
A few players had curtailed supplies in the past few days in anticipation that trouble in Ukraine would lead to supply constraints in Europe, thereby causing a spurt in prices, but that did not happen and now they are being forced to soften their offers, they added.
