September 3: The first unit (660 MW) of Jaypee Nigrie super thermal power project by Jaiprakash Power Ventures, a subsidiary of the Jaypee Group, located at Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh, started commercial operations on September 3, 2014, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
The total capacity of the proposed super thermal power project is 1,320 MW. The company, however, did not give any details about the second unit.
