July steam coal imports via Kandla down 0.18% m-o-m

August 18: Steam coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 670,415 tons in July 2014, down 0.18% from 671,593 tons imported in June, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of steam coal through the port during July 2013 stood at 740,430 tons.
Imports of steam coal through the port during the first four months of FY’15 stood at 2,379,721 tons while the same stood at 2,455,814 tons during the same period last year.
Following is the monthly break-up of steam coal imports via Kandla Port in 2014-15 and 2014-13:

During July 2014, 465,426 tons came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,326-Rs 6,253 ($39-$104) per ton, 128,499 tons came from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,020-Rs 5,857 ($84-$97) per ton. The balance 76,490 tons came in from the US at a price range of Rs 5,988-Rs 6,099 ($100-$101) per ton.
However, during June 2014, 519,381 tons of steam coal came in from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,442-Rs 6,105 ($40-$102) per ton while the balance 152,212 tons came in from South Africa at a price range of Rs 5,240-Rs 5,693 ($87-$94) per ton.
