KOMIPO invites bids for total 545,000 mt of coal for Boryeong Power Plant

South Korean state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) issued an new tender to purchase total 545,000 Metric Tons (MT) of coal for September – October loading for Boryeong Power Plant.
The total 420,000 Mt of LCV (minimum 4600 kcal/kg NAR coal) coal should be shipped on FOBT, within 2H September to October 2015 by 6 Panamax vessels. The same tender also required to offer 125,000 MT of HCV coal (minimum 5300 kcal/kg NAR coal) for 2H September loading by a cape size ship. The Chinese and Russian coals are acceptable to offer against 4600 kcal/kg NAR coal inquiry. However according to the tender norms, The Chinese and Russian coals are not allowed to offer for HCV (5300 NAR coal) coal requirement.
KOMIPO requires the suppliers to offer 4600 NAR coal with the quality such as Total Moisture (As received basis) Max. 28%, Volatile Matter (Air dried basis) between 22 to 45%, Fixed Carbon (Air dried basis) Max 60%, Total Sulfur(As received basis) Max 1.0% and Ash (Air dried basis) Max 17% for minimum 4600 kcal/kg coal on Net Calorific Value basis.
In the meantime, for 5300 NAR coal, the tenders norms says that, the Total Moisture (As received basis) of coal should not be more than 15%, Volatile Matter (Air dried basis) Min 24 and Max 45%, Fixed Carbon (Air dried basis) Max 60%, Total Sulfur(As received basis) Max 1.0% and Ash (Air dried basis) Max 23% for minimum 5300 kcal/kg coal on NAR basis.
Bidders can offer one single fixed price for up to a total tendering amount in lots of 50,000MT(+/-10%) or 70,000MT(+/-10%) or 125,000MT(+/-10%) on FOB Port of Loading basis or CFR Port of Boryeong basis.
Submissions of bids should not later than 14:00hrs on July 31, 2015 (Korean Standard Time).
