Steam coal imports through Kakinada Port stood at 121,673 tons in February 2016, down 13.70% from 141,000 tons in January 2016, according to provisional data available with ICMW. There were no imports in December 2015.

In February 2016, a volume of 73,523 tons of steam coal came from Indonesia at a unit price of Rs 3,570 ($52). Further details of the remaining 48,150 tons were not available.
In January 2016, a volume of 134,239 tons of steam coal came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,938-Rs 3,414 ($43-$51) per ton. Further details of remaining 6761 tons were not available.
