December 02: Steam coal imports through the port of Kandla stood at 889168 tons in October 2015, against 887,985 tons in September 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
Imports of steam coal via Kandla Port during September 2014 stood at 860,407 tons.
During the first seven months (April-October) of 2015, imports of the material stood at 6,597,321 in 2015 tons against 4,623,960 tons imported during the same period last year.

In October, 200 tons came from China at a price of Rs 3,912 ($59) per ton, 404,489 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 1,805-Rs 4229 ($28-$64) per ton, 227,960 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 3,687-Rs 5,537 ($57-$83) per ton while the balance 122,165 tons came from the United States at a price range of Rs 5,048-Rs 6,154 ($77-$92) per ton.
In September, 466,183 tons came from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 1,940-Rs 5,404 ($29-$81) per ton, 60,718 tons came from Indonesia at a price of Rs 4,287 ($64) per ton, 206,519 tons from South Africa at a price range of Rs 3,747-Rs 5,370 ($55-$80) per ton while the balance 122,165 tons came from the United States at a price range of Rs 5,301-Rs 6,133 ($79-$92) per ton.
