Imports of coking coal via Krishnapatnam Port catapulted 202.49% to 4,510,943 tons in fiscal 2015-16 against a volume of 1,491,278 tons imported in 2014-15, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
On the other hand, imports of coking coal via this port were down 22.66% at 301,268 tons in March 2016 against 389,542 tons seen in February 2016.

In March, a volume of 41,099 tons came in from Australia at a price range at Rs 6,525-Rs 7,081 ($97-$104) per ton, 184,804 tons from Canada at Rs 5,590-Rs 5,900 ($83-$87) per ton while details of 75,365 tons were not available.
In February, a volume of 115,270 tons came in from Australia at a price range at Rs 5,759-Rs 6,779 ($84-$98) per ton, while details of 274,272 tons were not available.
