Imports of coking coal via Krishnapatnam Port were down 8.35% to 380,542 tons in January 2016 against a volume of 415,215 tons imported in December 2015, according to provisional data available with ICMW.
For the first 10 months (April-January) of the current fiscal (2015-16), coking coal imports through the port stood at 3,820,133 tons while 996,695 tons had been imported in the same period of the previous fiscal (2014-15).

In January, a volume of 97,000 tons came in from Australia at a price range at Rs 6,098-Rs 6,573 ($89-$97) per ton, while details of 283,542 tons were not available.
In December, a volume of 20,000 tons came in from Australia at a price of Rs 6,553 ($97) per ton, while details of 395,215 tons were not available.
