Krishnapatnam revises berthing charges for vessels

May 18: Krishnapatnam Port, one of the private ports in India, revised charges for bulk/breakbulk vessels to $0.15 per day and for container vessels, pure car carriers (PCC), pure car/truck carriers (PCTC), project cargo vessels to $0.00289 per hour from April 1, the company said in a statement.

The previous charges, however, are not known.

The port, said that it will take additional charges, which is three times more than the original berth charges, when a vessel is unable to commence cargo operations within two hours from the time of all fast and when vessel is not ready to sail, After two hours from the time of completion of cargo and applicable for all the periods of stoppages caused by the vessel during the course of cargo operations, including unduly closure of hatch covers, unable to match vessels’ ballasting-deballasting in sync with cargo ops etc.

The pilotage charge for berthing and unbreathing of bulk, liquid, break bulk, LNG/LPG, import or export (foreign –going) vessels up to 8,000 gross tons (GRT) will be $0.45, 8,001 to 20,000 GRT will be $0.60, 20,001 to 40,000 GRT will be $0.68, 40,001 to 70,000 GRT will be $0.70 and vessels of 70,001 GRT & above will be $0.75

The port statement said that pilotage cancellation charges will be $2,200 if cancelled after pilot boarding and $660 if cancelled between two hours till pilot boarding. Pilotage detention charges of the port will be $1,200 per 30 minutes slab when the delay is more than 30 minutes (for pilot detention - USD 600 + tug detention - USD1,800 per hour), the port statement said.
