April 14: Imports of steam coal through Karaikal Port dipped 23.34% to 53,000 tons in March against a volume of 69,145 tons imported in February according to provisional data available with ICMW.
In March, imports consisted of 29,000 tons from Indonesia at a price range of Rs 2,628-Rs 4,141($42-$66) while details of the balance 24,000 tons could not be known.
In February, 25,500 tons arrived from Indonesia at a price band of Rs 2,605-Rs 3,863 ($42-$62) per ton while details of the balance 43,645 tons could not be known.
