15 Jan 2015
January 15: In an effort to clear any uncertainty whatsoever, the Ministry of Coal has urged all the bidders of Schedule II (operational) coal mines who have purchased tender documents and intimated their willingness, to visit the mines and study the land papers related to such mines, an official communication from Director (NA) S K Shahi said.
To schedule the date and time for site visits, Shahi has requested the bidders to contact. O P Dubey of the ministry.
The decision by the ministry is believed to be aimed at bringing in transparency by giving an opportunity for first-hand experience on the location of mines and inspection of land-related documents to the bidders, industry sources said.
Many mines are believed to be facing litigations over land acquisition, they pointed out.
