A mining complex near the Pennsylvania-West Virginia border is closing. The Monongalia County Coal Company’s underground mine and plant will close later this year. The move will cost hundreds of miners their jobs.
In April 2020, at least 300 people worked at the mine. Now another 180 will be laid off between August and September.
