February 26: Directors of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), on February 25, approved an investment of Rs 9,870.51 crore (assessed cost) for the Khargone super thermal power project (2x660 MW) in Madhya Pradesh, the company said in a filing to the BSE.
The investment approval, however, is subject to environment clearance by the Ministry of Environment and Forests and Climate Change.
“Further, the board of directors has also accorded approval to the proposal for NTPC's commitment to the Government of India for setting up 10,000-MW of renewable energy projects during the next five years,” the company statement added.
