NTPC opts for early closure of bond issue

December 5: NTPC Ltd, which had floated a public issue of tax-free secured redeemable non-convertible bonds on December 3, has exercised the option of early closure of the issue.

In a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the company said the issue, which was to close on December 16, 2013, would do so on December 5.

No reasons, however, were cited by the company to BSE for the early closure of the issue.

The company had planned to raise Rs 1,750 crore through the issuance of its first bond issue in two decades. The issue size is Rs 1,000 crore with the option to retain oversubscription up to Rs 750 crore, the company said on December 2.
